MATH

  • Math 2/3

    • This is a class for students in Grade 2/3 Math. It builds foundations so that students will be prepared to successfully continue to Grade 4/5 Math and beyond. The course covers number of operations(long multiplication/division, decimals, and fractions), unit conversion, simple geometry and world problem. Verities of teaching materials including Singapore math will be used for this class.

    • Prerequisites: Student must currently be in grade 2 math or above

  • Math 4/5

    • This is a class for students in Grade 4 Math or above. It builds foundations so that students will be prepared to successfully continue to Grade 6 Math and beyond. The course covers percentage, ratios,  proportional relationships, decimal/fraction/percentage conversion, world problem, statistic and probability. Verities of teaching materials including Singapore math will be used for this class.

    • Prerequisites: Student must currently be in grade 4 math or above.

  • Pre-Algebra

    • This is a class for students in Grade 6 Math or above. The course is to serve as a bridge between elementary mathematics and Algebra. Concepts include algebraic connections/expressions, linear equations, factoring, absolute value, inequalities, geometry, and graphing. Problem solving, reasoning, estimation, and connections between math and everyday applications will be emphasized. The course builds foundations so that students will be prepared to successfully continue to Algebra I Math and beyond.

    • Prerequisites: Student must currently be in grade 6 math or above.

  • Algebra I

    • This is a class for students in Grade 7 Math or above. The content involves understanding, writing, solving, and graphing linear, quadratic, and exponential equations—including systems of two linear equations and inequalities with two unknowns.  Quadratic equations are solved by factoring, by completing the square, by using graphs, or by applying the quadratic formula.  Students will become proficient with operations on monomial and polynomial expressions. The course builds foundations so that students will be prepared to successfully continue to Algebra II Math and beyond.

    • Prerequisites: Student must currently be in grade 7 math or above.

  • Algebra II

    • This is a class for students in Grade 9 Math or above. The course includes operations with functions; the study of polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric Functions functions and their graphs; sequences and variation. Students will become super proficient with algebra. The course builds foundations so that students will be prepared to successfully continue to Pre-Calculus math and beyond.

    • Prerequisites: Student must currently be in grade 9 math or above.

  • Pre-AMC

    • This is a class for students in Grade 3 Math or above. It builds foundations so that students will be prepared for AMC 8 Math and beyond.
